FAQ's

  • What is Microblading?
Microblading provides fine, natural hair strokes by channelling small needles through the skin. The pigment is retained between the needles and is drawn down and implanted to create the hair stoke. Compared to micropigmentation (using an electric tattoo device for semi-permanent cosmetics), Microblading is quicker and creates clean, realistic brows without blurring. The procedure is painless and lasts 12 to 18 months with no colour change.
  • What is Combination Brows?
Combination Brows are similar to Microbladed brows, just with added shading for more fullness.
  • What is the process of Microblading, step by step?
Firstly upon booking, we ask that you send in a photo of just your face (no body/shoulders) against a plain background in natural light. Think passport photo style, no selfies, so get a relative or friend to maybe take the photo for you. This is to speed up the design process as your face shape and approximate positioning can be determined before attending your consultation. The Client will have a consultation appointment booked prior to the treatment day. This is to assess brows, discuss size, shape, colour and design. We then assess your suitability and ensure your expectations match what is delivered. You will take home a patch test to be completed as instructed before your treatment day. If your consultation is done via phone or you have booked the consultation for the same day as your treatment, a patch test will be sent out to your address or alternatively this can be collected from Studio 38. On the treatment day, please arrive with no brow make up. We will start by mapping out and designing the brows. Some hair may need to be removed but you will be asked permission first if needed. If all is ok, and you are happy to proceed with the design, a numbing cream is then applied to the area. You can then get comfy and relax as the treatment is started. Once treatment is complete, we will provide you with aftercare instructions to follow for best results.
  • Do I need to do a patch test?
Yes. Each client must have a patch test to rule out any allergic reaction to the products used. This will either be given to you during your consultation or sent out in the post.
